Early in the development of MicroCyte it became clear we needed a strong technology partner with a depth of experience and a wide range of potential projects with which we could work. We wanted a partner who would help steer development of MicroCyte and offer strong user and development feedback from use of the system in real world situations.Magic proved to be an ideal proving ground for MicroCyte and we looked to work with both them and their clients to make MicroCyte a usable and flexible CMS ideal for use with a large segment of their development work. Much of Magic's feedback was directly integrated into what MicroCyte is today and many of their experiences shaped how the system works and responds to both developer and end users.
Magic has deployed several well received website using MicroCyte and has found the development process to be extremely painless. Development has been focussed more on the working layout and visual appearance of a site rather than the nitty gritty details of how to hook in CMS functionality, which is a non-issue with MicroCyte. Using these advantages Magic have been able to dramatically speed up development or even add content management facilities to projects which otherwise would not have had the budget or timescale to do so.
Magic and MicroCyte hope to continue the partnership into the future with many new projects planned which will push and expand the functionality of MicroCyte in future versions and deliver first class sites to Magic's clients. If you would like to contribute to the development of MicroCyte and enjoy the same access to developers and source code as Magic then you can contact us directly about licensing the source code and joining our Source Code Access Programme.
